How to get the best out of your Daikin air purifier
Air purifiers can help reduce the amount of dust, allergens and smells in your home as well as remove smoke and pet odours. From putting it in the best place to using its “quiet mode” for a good night's sleep, here are some tips to make the most of your Daikin air purifier
1) Replace your air purifier filter every ten years
Daikin high-performing electrostatic HEPA filters are long-lasting, giving you peace of mind for a decade at a time. Not only are they efficient at removing smaller particles such as dust and pollen but they're great value for money too. Just keep an eye on the date as you do need to replace them every ten years. Maybe stick a reminder of the year you bought it on the back of the unit.
2) Position the air purifier correctly
The best place for the air purifier is in the room where it will be most effective but one of the many benefits of a Daikin air purifier is they are easy to move around. So try it in your living room, bedroom and anywhere else where you spend a lot of time. Choose a stable surface, away from walls and any blockages to reap the benefits.
3) Run the air purifier regularly
Daikin air purifiers are extremely energy efficient so it's a good idea to keep them running as much as possible to get the best out of them. Leave your air purifier running when you are at home to ensure the air is constantly being cleaned. You can also leave it switched on when you go out.
4) Use the auto mode
Not sure which mode is best? Our Daikin air purifiers make it easy with an auto mode that adjusts the fan speed based on the air quality. So you can always be confident that the air in your home is being cleaned at the optimal level.
5) Try the timer function
If you're busy, remembering to switch your air purifier on and off is one extra thing you don't need on your to-do list. Instead, use the timer function to set it to come on and off at specific times. That way, you can be sure the air is always clean when you're at home. Tip: set it to come on before you come home and you'll have fresh, clean air waiting for you.
6) Keep the air purifier away from walls and furniture
Your Daikin air purifier works most efficiently when the air is circulating freely so make sure it's not too close to walls or other objects and never hang anything on top of it.
7) Clean the air purifier regularly
Your Daikin air purifier is easy to clean; just wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove any dust or debris.
8) Use the air purifier with other air-cleaning methods
Although the Daikin air purifier is efficient, it's important to do everything you can to keep your home clean. Open windows to let fresh air in and vacuum and dust regularly to help keep pollutants and dirt at bay. Many plants can help to purify the air, including chrysanthemums, which love a sunny spot near a window and the humble spider plant, which is easy to propagate and doesn't take much looking after.
9) Choose an air purifier that's right for you
If you keep indoor plants, you'll also need an air purifier with a humidifying function to keep them healthy. It's important not to let the soil dry out and the purifier will ensure the air in your home maintains perfect humidity levels.
10) Use "quiet mode" when you need to sleep
There's no need to worry about your air purifier keeping you awake at night. Our Daikin air purifiers have a "quiet mode" that reduces the fan speed and noise, making it easier for you to sleep. Even if you're a light sleeper, you'll find they're super quiet.
11) Don't forget the air quality sensor
Most of our Daikin air purifiers have an air quality sensor that detects the level of pollutants in the air and adjusts the fan speed accordingly.
12) Don't forget to move your air purifier around
Your Daikin air purifier is compact and portable, so make the most of it. You might already be using it in your bedroom or living room but try it in other spaces where you spend a lot of time, such as the kitchen or home office. It's an excellent way to improve the overall air quality of your home.
